In accordance with the Supreme Court Judgment and the Maulana Azad Memorial College Policy, sexual harassment includes any unwelcome, sexually determined behaviour, whether directly or by implication. Such behaviour may include physical contact and advances, demands or requests for sexual favours, sexually coloured remarks, showing pornography, or any other unwelcome physical, verbal, or non-verbal conduct of a sexual nature.
Without limiting the generality of the above, sexual harassment shall include (but not be confined to) the following:
a. When unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favours, or verbal/physical conduct of a sexual nature—explicitly or implicitly—are made a condition for instruction, employment, participation, or evaluation of an individual’s engagement in any academic or campus activity.
b. When unwelcome sexual advances, or verbal, non-verbal, or physical conduct such as loaded comments, slander, sexually coloured jokes or remarks, letters, phone calls or e-mails, gestures, showing pornography, lurid stares, physical contact or molestation, stalking, or sounds/displays of a derogatory nature, have the purpose or effect of interfering with an individual’s performance, or of creating an intimidating, hostile, or offensive campus environment.
