To inculcate a sense of discipline in the youth and to develop their character, the ideal of service and capacity for leadership in addition to fostering a spirit of comaraderie, the college provides facilities for NCC training to the volunteer students.The National Cadet Corps in India is a voluntary organization that involves students in adventurous activities. The Cadets are given basic military training in small arms and parades. This stimulates interest in the defence for the country as also to build up a reserve of man power for the Armed Forces, NCC 'C' Certificate holders are exempted from the written test of CDS / IMA.

Rules and Regulations :

  1. Every enrolled NCC cadet has to undergo two parades of two hour each in a week and is required to attend 40 parades in a year.
  2. All cadets shall have to put in 75% attendance at parades so as to become eligible for certificate exams.
  3. It is mandatory for the enrolled students to attend one camp.
  4. The uniforms issued to the cadets are to be used with great care. The uniforms are to be returned at the end of the academic session to the officers concerned, failing which the permission is not accorded to appear for the University Examination.
  5. `B`& `C` Certificate Examinations are held annually for cadets in 2nd and 3rd year of NCC training respectively.
  6. Misbehavior and misconduct in NCC activities as adjudged by Associate NCC officers can debar the cadet from appearing in the `B` & `C` Certificate Examinations.
  7. Enrolled cadets are covered by insurance against any mishap during the training.

Our Outstanding Achievements

• NCC- NCC Cadets brought laurels in all the activates they took part in

  1. In 8 NIC (National Integration Camp) namely NIC Nagarcoil, NIC Jasalmair, NIC Tejpur, NIC Jamshedpur, NIC Demapur, NIC Srinagar, NIC Raniketh, and NIC Tripathi 20 Cadets of the College participated.
  2. 11 Cadets have been selected in Republic Day Parade 2017 for New Delhi.
  3. 20 Cadets are going to participate in Republic Day Parade at Mini Stadium Prade Ground, Jammu on 26th January 2017.
  4. 5 Cadets participated in DG NCC Games 2016 in Hockey, Basket Ball, Football, Handball.
  5. 2 Cadets participated in TSC (Thal Sena Camp) at New Delhi.
  6. 10 Cadets participated in Army attachment camp at B.D. Bari Brahmana, Smailpur, Jammu.
  7. NCC Cadets were involved in plantation of trees, cleaning of area in and around the college in connection with NCC day celebration.
  8. Swachh Bharat Abhyain under social service and community development activates was undertaken by all the NCC cadets of the college.
  9. Collection for Flag Day Fund was Rs.11444.00 (Rupees Eleven thousand four hundred forty four only) and it was highly appreciated by the concerned authorities.

• NCC and NSS wings of Govt. M.A.M College, Jammu celebrated flag day constitutional day National Ekta Diws Swachh Barat Abhyan and a Seminar on Fundamental Rights and Duties. NSS organized 10 days special camp with in the premises college.

• The following programmes were conduct by NCC and NSS unit of the college under the supervision of Dr. Sangeeta Sudan and Prof. Savita Jamwal.

  1. Awareness programme was conducted by SBI Zonal Branch Jammu about the cashless transaction on 19.12.2016 to the staff and the students of Govt. M.A.M College.
  2. Thirteen teaching faculty of Govt. M.A.M College were directed by the Principal to attend the Digital Transaction Awareness progamme at GDC Paloura, Jammu sponsored by J&K Bank on 20.12.2016 at 11:00 am.
  3. NCC Cadets & NSS Volunteers of Govt. M.A.M College visited the local market to aware the shopkeepers about the cashless transaction using various modes of payment such as Paytm, Mobile Banking, Internat Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card, Micro ATM etc. on 21.12.2016.
  4. A canopy was installed by the officials of SBI Zonal Branch Jammu within the premises of Govt. M.A.M College to aware the students and dthe staff about various modes of the cashless transactions and installation of SBI Buddy Wallet on 23rd of December 2016.
  5. As a sequel to the ongoing digital India awareness a one day seminar was organized within the premises of Govt. M.A.M College by J&K Bank for creating awareness among the faculty and the students. A team of J&K Bank officials as well as Bank Manager, New University Campus elaborated at length the various modes of cashless transactions viz Internet Banking, M-Pay, Credit Card, Cash Credit Limit and even their Chip Debit ATM card including on spot registration for issuance of Credit Card and enhancing cash credit limit.

• Sports-Students of Govt. M.A.M College participated in 17 different games and achieved laurels in cross country and chess and were Runner up in Gotka and Boxing. College also Participated in Inter University with 10 students.

• National Participation – 2 Medals (Taekwaondo) Silver and Bronze.

• Infrastructure- In our college Indoor Stadium/Sports Complex, Women Hostel, department of P.G. Mathematics, BBA Block, BCA Block are under construction and the Building under RUSA (Cluster University) is in the final stage of completion. In addition to this Swimming Pool is also under construction.

• Refresher Courses and Orientation- 5 Faculty members namely Dr. Reena Rani, Prof. Bhawana Khajooria, Prof. Sarkia Mahajan, Prof. Mona Sethi, Physical Director Mr. Balbir Singh Chib attended three weeks Refresher Course in Human Rights and Disaster Management organized by Academic Staff College University of Jammu. 2 Faculty members namely Prof. Rashu Sharma, Prof. Heera Saini attended 4 week Orientation Course in Govt. B.Ed. College, Jammu

• Paper Presentation-

  1. Prof. Nirlape Kour presented paper in 8th Annual International Conference on 16th, 17th November 2016 at Punjabi University Patiala on topic Women Empowerment through deconstructing gender role and responsibility of men.
  2. Prof. Rajesh Kumar Sharma presented paper on the topic FATOU COMPONENTS OF SEMICONJUGATED TRANSCENDENTAL ENTIRE FUNCTIONS in UGC Sponsored Conference.
  3. Prof. Prabhjeet Kour presented paper at National Seminar on Role of ICT in Higher Education at Govt. College for Women Gandhi Nagar, Jammu on 25th and 26th October 2016.
  4. Prof. Heera Saini presented paper in Jammu University on the topic Some Fundamental Theorems of Functional Analyst’s in bi complex byperbolic scalor.
  5. Prof. Rashu Sharma presented paper on the topic comparative study of Richard Wright’s Black Boy and O.P. Valmiki’s Jothan as Subaltern Voices in International Conference on world peace at Dinyansagar Institute of Management and Research Pune, India on 23th and 24th September 2016. 2nd paper is presented in Jammu University Department of English on the topic Voice of Dalits and the changing Cultural Contours in G.Kalyana Rao’s Untouchable Spring on 7th October 2016.
  6. Other Activities- Hon’able Minister of State Mrs. Priya Sethi Visited Govt. M.A.M College to inspect ongoing works and resolve various issues.
  7. Group Commander Brigadier Rajan Jamwal Visited Govt. M.A.M College and gave his observation for NCC. He said that NCC activities in the college are running satisfactorily and NCC cadets are excelling in all the fields.
  8. As a step towards digitalization compaign State Bank of India and J&K Bank conductd workshops and Seminars for sensitization of faculty and the students thereby ensuring cash less transactions.
  9. Commission Secretary to Govt. Higher Education Department Civil Secretariat, Jammu visited M.A.M College on 23.09.2016 various issues relating to repairs and renovation of Science Block, Upgradation of Computer Lab., Repair and Construction of Washrooms for the use of students, Construction of Car/Scooter Parking, Completition of Auditoriu, Work on Swimming Pool, Installation of exsting Gen Set and Face lifting of the college building.
  10. Dr. Azgar Samoon Commissioner/Secretary to Govt. Higher Education Department visited J&K Institute of Mathematical Sciences Campus Govt. M.A.M College on 3rd of March 2017 for discussing functioning of the institute and resolve various other issues of the institute. All the Professors of Mathematics from various colleges of Jammu province, Director Colleges Nodal Principal, Nodal Officers of the institute and Principals form Srinagar were present meeting.
  11. Major General Nirandra Kumar visited M.A.M College on 4th April 2017, to inspect the ongoing NCC activities in the college. He recommended the induction of Girls students in NCC unit of the college and extended an open invitation to the Principal and the faculty of the college for visiting NCC Camp at Nagrota.
