| Department of Sociology, Maulana Azad Memorial College, Jammu organized a Webinar on “Life Style Diseases and Women: A Sociological Viewpoint” on 24th of February, 2022 under the patronage of worthy Principal of the college, Prof (Dr.) G S Rakwal. The resource person for the event was Dr. Swati Sharma, Asstt. Professor, School of Social Sciences and Languages, Vellore Institute of Technology, Chennai. The webinar began with welcome address by Prof. Meenakshi Thakur, Head Department of Sociology, Maulana Azad Memorial College. Dr. Swati elaborated on life style diseases and the social construction of diseases like PCOD, Diabetes and Cardiovascular diseases. Principal of the College, Prof. (Dr) G S Rakwal appreciated the lecture and encouraged the department for more such insightful lectures. The event was co-ordinated by Dr. Neetika Sharma, Asstt. Professor and formal vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Syed Naser Ali Shah, Asst. Professoer, Department of Sociology. |
