A debate competition was organized by the Department of Political Science and Sociology in collaboration with Gender Club and Shikshit Bharat on the topic ‘Women Empowerment: Myth or Reality’ on 10th of March, 2022. Sixteen students from both the departments participated in the competition, wherein, students spoke in favour of the motion as well as against the motion. Giving tough competition to his competitors Mohd. Moheen secured first position whereas Aditay Bhardwaj of Ist sem and Rahein Gupta of 5th sem secured Second and third position respectively. Lakshita of 3rd sem and Mohd. Yasin of Ist got consolation prizes. Certificates were given to the winners as well as the participants. Principal of the College Prof. (Dr.) G. S. Rakwal appreciated the students for meticulous presentation of their views. Judges of the event were Prof. Ruth Messehi (Head Department of English), Prof. Shabir Ahmed ( Head Department of Hindi), Prof. Kamaljeet Kour (Deptartment of Punjabi) and Prof. Nazia Chaudhary (Department of Dogri). The event was successfully co-ordinated by Dr. Seema Jamwal, Head Department of Political Science and Prof. Meenakshi Thakur, Head Department of Sociology. Prof. Dheeraj Bhardwaj, Dr. Karan Singh, Prof. Lukesha Dabgotra, Prof, Vijeta Anand, Dr. Neetika Sharma and Dr. Syed Nasir Ali Shah encouraged the students for their enthusiastic participation in the competition |
