Symposium on Indian Contribution to Mathematics
Department of Mathematics of M.A.M College Jammu organised a symposium on “Indian Contribution to Mathematics” to commemorate the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence under “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” on 23 March 2022 under the patronage of Prof. Dr. G.S Rakwal, Principal of the college. This symposium was conducted in the spirit of “By the students, for the students and of the students”. Prof. Dr. G.S Rakwal, Principal of the college and Chief Guest of the symposium in his inaugural address, lauded the efforts of Department of Mathematics for organizing the symposium. A large number of students actively participated in the symposium. Dr Anupama Gupta and Prof. Rajesh Kotwal were the jury members for the symposium and adjourned Geetika of B.Sc Mathematics Hons Semester 1 and Ameesha Devi of PG Mathematics Semester 1 as 1st and 2nd winners respectively. The third position was shared by Apurva Thakur and Akriti Sharma both from PG Mathematics Semester III. The proceedings were conducted by Aaina Verma, 3rd Sem PG student. Dr Shally Gupta (HOD Mathematics) congratulated the winners and lauded the efforts put in by Dr. Kamaljeet Kour, Prof. Vishally Sharma, Dr. Anil Singh, Prof. Sonam Mehta, Dr. Khalid Manzoor, Dr. Charu Sharma and Dr. Sumita Lalotra in organizing the event.
