SAVE TAWI CAMPAIGN
The NSS Unit of Maulana Azad Memorial College, Jammu, a constituent college of Cluster University of Jammu participated in Save Tawi Campaign organized by JKPCC (Jammu and Kashmir Pollution Control Committee), under the patronage of College Principal Prof G.S. Rakwal. JKPCC is engaged in constant efforts to beat the pollution problem in the UT of J&K by focusing on various areas affected by pollution which also includes cleaning of the local water bodies. The event specifically emphasized on the cleaning of Tawi which has been polluted in the recent years by the large influx of non-biodegradable waste. The event which spanned 3 days was commenced on 8th April, 2022 and included a variety of activities ranging from a poster making competition to an awareness campaign for the common masses. The NSS Unit of the college put in their dedicated and sincere efforts by contributing towards the initiative. The NSS Unit of the college joined hands with the JKPCC Organizing group and other NGOs in spreading awareness among the people, with whom they interacted over these three days and also made a progressive step towards cleaning Tawi.
