| Department of Chemistry organised visit of students to Department of Chemistry, University of Jammu for One Day Instrumentation workshop on 29 March, 2022 under the mentorship of the worthy Principal, Dr G S Rakwal. It is a day-long visit in which 22 students participated along with two faculty members .. Dr Sumita Dham, Head of Chemistry gave the introductory talk on the objective of the visit. The Objective of the visit is to increase practical stimulation among the students. During the visit, students were taken to labs of various streams and were introduced about the working and applications of various instruments like Sonicator, NMR, Magnetic Stirrer, Hot Air Oven, Vacuum Chambers, Xenon Lamp Spectrophotometer, Glass Capillary Viscometer, etc. Students were also demonstrated about the handling of Nitrogen in Liquid Nitrogen Plant. Prof Kamal Kishore Kapoor, Head of the Department of Chemistry at Jammu University enriched the students about the scope of chemistry after graduation. He talked about the various research areas in Chemistry and motivated the students to use their potential in a best possible way. The whole event was coordinated by Dr Inderjeet Kour and Dr Satinder Kumari Juneja. |
