| The NSS Unit of Govt. M.A.M College, a constituent college of the Cluster University of Jammu, under the patronage of (Prof.) Dr. G.S Rakwal celebrates“World Environment Day” under the aegis of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav by organizing a two day activity. On Day one, the volunteers showcased their innovation by creating handmade paper bags in the college premises and also made placards. On the second day of the activity, an environmental rally was organised by the NSS Volunteers. A large number of students participated in the rally along with the faculty members and distributed paper bags among the common people while also spreaded awareness about the hazardous effects of plastic usage. This year’s theme of the World Environment Day- “Only One Earth” highlights the urgent need to save our unique planet as now is the time that we must go from harming the planet to healing it. Environmental degradation not only poses a grave threat to the current generation but also questions the future existence of humans on Earth.
