| The NSS Unit of Maulana Azad Memorial College, Jammu, a constituent college of Cluster University of Jammu under the patronage of College Principal Prof G.S. Rakwal, organized a Plantation Drive under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, in collaboration with Social Forestry Department. The Plantation Drive is organized as a part of a week-long activity celebrating the Van Mahotsav. The plantation drive was conducted in the campus to promote a cleaner and greener environment. A variety of plants were planted by the students. In the present time, when all sorts of factors responsible for environmental degradationare on the rise, it is our duty as responsible citizens to plant more and more trees so as to restore the environment while also eliminating the factors responsible for its destruction. The event was joined by seventy-five volunteers (NSS and NCC Naval Wing), the faculty members including Prof. Ruth K Masehi, Convener NSS Advisory committee, Dr. Anil Singh, ANO NCC (Naval wing), Prof. Vijeta Anand, Convener Shikshit Bharat Abhhiyan, Principal of the college and higher authorities of the Social Forestry Department.The event was convened by NSS programme officers Dr. Koushal Kiran Thacker and Prof.Shabeer Ahmed. |
