| The NSS Unit of Maulana Azad Memorial College, Jammu, a constituent college of Cluster University of Jammu under the patronage of College Principal Prof G.S. Rakwal, conducted a Plantation Drive in Jakh Village, District Samba, under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The Plantation Drive is organized as a part of a week-long activity, celebrating the Van Mahotsav. The plantation drive was conducted in the adopted village to promote a cleaner and greener environment. A variety of plants were planted by the students in the village and it’s vicinity. The NSS Unit also made the locals, aware of the benefits of planting trees and how it helps in cleaning the environment. The event was joined by Ramesh Kumar , Sarpanch of the village along with the members of the Panchayat. Nodal officers Dheeraj Kumar Bhardwaj and Vijeeta Anand representing Shikshit Bharat also joined the event. The whole programme was conducted under the supervision of NSS Programme Officers Dr.Koushal Kiran Thakur and Prof Shabeer Ahmed. |
