Lecture on gender sensitization
Internal Complaint Committee in collaboration with Gender Club and Shikshit Bharat Unit of Maulana Azad Memorial College, a Constituent College of Cluster University of Jammu, conducted a guest lecture on Gender Sensitization: Issues and Perspectives. The speaker on the occasion was Dr. Nancy Mengi, Head, Department of social work, Central University of Jammu. She highlighted various gender issues like gender stereotypes, gender gaps and motivated the students to break these socially constructed differences so that it paves the way towards an egalitarian society.
The programme was conducted under the patronage of Principal, Prof. (Dr) G.S Rakwal. In his address to the students, he highlighted various gender issues and also stressed on role of education to eliminate such gender stereotypes. A large number of students participated in the interactive session. The formal welcome address was given by Dr. Seema Jamwal, Convenor, Internal Complaint Committee. The programme was coordinated by Prof. Meenakshi Thakur, Convenor Gender Club,who also delivered the vote of thanks. Prof. Neeraj Sharma IQAC Convener also shared his personal experiences. Prof. Lukesha Dubgotra and Prof. Dheeraj Bhardwaj and Ms. Vijeeta Anand, Nodal Officers, Shikshit Bharat. Prof Shabila Wani, Prof Shehnaz Qadri, Prof Monita Bhat, Prof Neelam Kumari Prof Kamaljeet also graced the event.
