CLEANLINESS CAMPAIGN 2.0 CONCLUDES AT MAULANA AZAD MEMORIAL COLLEGE
Cleanliness campaign 2.0, a special mega event conducted by the NSS Unit of Maulana Azad
Memorial College, a constituent college of Cluster University of Jammu under the patronage of the
College Principal, concluded on 31
st October, 2022. This mega event was an amalgamation of a
variety of events ranging from cleaning some areas within the city to participating in the Save Tawi
Campaign organized by JKPCC. All the NSS Volunteers involved in this mega event enthusiastically
and actively played their part in making it successful. All the activities covered under this mega event
were done in conjugation with the concept of Janbhagidari wherein the local people of the areas
visited by the NSS Unit were also involved in the process of the activities.
The main highlight of this mega event was the Swachhata Drive which was done in collaboration
with Jammu Municipal Corporation as a part of the Mission Clean India 2.0. In this drive, a total of
250kg of plastic as well as other solid/wet waste was collected from the Rama Lane area, Talab Tillo,
Jammu by the volunteers and was handed over to the JMC for its proper disposal. This Swachhta
Drive was coordinated by the JMC Sanitary Supervisor Sh. Chamal Lal and our NSS Programme
officer's Dr. Koushal Kiran Thakur and Prof. Shabeer Ahmed.
The College Principal congratulated the entire NSS Unit for the completion of a wonderful event
aimed towards the amelioration of our environment.
