Career counselling lecture on "Career after Graduation “.
2 J&K Boys Bn. Jammu and 1 J&K Naval Unit NCC of Maulana Azad Memorial College under the able guidance of Principal Dr. G. S. Rakwal and in collaboration with IQAC organised a career counselling lecture on "Career after Graduation “. Retd. Sr. Lecturer Mr. Kulbhushan Sharma, a Career Counsellor, was the resource person. In his motivational lecture, he focussed on the following category of people; Students, Soldiers, Scientists, Scholars and Saints. “Only people from these five categories have been able to made a change and will always bring the change in the society”, he said. He encouraged NCC cadets to follow the life of such category of people to be successful and resourceful to the society and nation. The most important aspect of success of these people is that they are excellent communicators and hence communication skills are important for securing success in life. He further, divulged in the details to harness communication skills. Dr. G. S. Rakwal, Principal of College, in his address welcomed the resource person and mentioned the importance of such lectures for students and NCC cadets in particular. He also appreciated the efforts of NCC units in shaping the youth to be progressive change makers. Major Dr. Karan Singh, Dr. Anil Singh, Prof. Poonam Angotra, and other faculty members and more than 100 NCC cadets of Infantry and Naval wings were present in the lecture.
In another event, Principal, Dr. G.S. Rakwal along with Major Dr. Karan Singh, Associate NCC Officer of 2 J&K Boys Bn. Jammu and Dr. Anil Singh, Care Taking Officer of 1 J&K Naval Unit NCC, felicitated the cadets of NCC infantry and Naval Unit on their successful participation in Republic Day Camp in Delhi. Total 9 Cadets, 6 from 2 J&K Boys Bn. Jammu and 03 from 1 J&K Naval Unit NCC of Maulana Azad Memorial were selected for participation in the prestigious Republic Day Camp held at Delhi from December 29, 2022 to January 29, 2023. JK&L Directorate secured 4th position in this year’s RDC and participating cadets of Maulana Azad Memorial College competed in different competitions by securing respectable positions. Principal of the college interacted with the cadets and congratulated them on their success. He further asked the students to keep working hard towards nation building and harness positive and progressive mindset. He also acknowledged the contributions of NCC wings in representing Maulana Azad Memorial College at National level and fetching laurels for the college. Major Dr. Karan Singh, Associate Naval Officer, in his interaction with the contingent congratulated the cadets and briefed the principal about the different competitions in which cadets have excelled in RDC at Delhi. It is pertinent to mention that RDC is the most prestigious one-month long camp for any NCC cadet in his/her tenure and a cadet is selected for this camp only after going through rigorous selection trials at different levels; starting from college level, then at Unit level and then Directorate level. Every NCC cadet aspires to be part to RDC and Maulana Azad Memorial College is shining high with large number of participations by NCC Cadets in RDC 2023.
