Seminar on “Equitable and Inclusive Education: Vision NEP 2020
Department of Education Maulana Azad Memorial College, Jammu, A Constituent College of Cluster University Jammu, organized a seminar on the topic “Equitable And Inclusive Education: Vision NEP 2020” on 20th March 2023 to be a part of the initiative of Govt of India under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. The seminar was organized under the patronage of worthy Principal, Prof (Dr) G. S. Rakwal who has been constant motivator and guiding force for the students and staff to excel in all fields of education.
The program started with the welcome address by Prof Jozafeen Afzal. In her address she mentioned that Equitable and Inclusive Education forms one of the key features of NEP 2020 and the policy reaffirms that bridging the social category gaps in school education will continue to be one of the major goals of all education sector development programmes. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest of the programme, Principal, Dr G. S. Rakwal lauded the department for choosing an important topic for the seminar. He talked about NEP 2020 which is based on 4 pillars – Access , Equity, Quality and Accountability. He also mentioned that this policy aims to achieve 100% GER(Gross Enrolment Ratio) from preschool to secondary by the end of 2030 and thereby making the education system more flexible, holistic and multidisciplinary. In all, 13 speakers namely Aman Sharma, Anshu Kumari, Arun Singh, Suneha Chandail, Bunty Singh, Nittin Kumar, Parul Sharma, Shivansh Verma, Pinki Devi, Umadh Rathour Radhika Dogra, Siya Gondhi and Mehak spoke on the important aspects of NEP 2020 i.e, Equitable and Inclusive Education: Vision NEP 2020.The programme was attended by students from all the semesters in large number. Prof Banpreet kour Associate Dean Student Welfare CLUJ, Prof Seema Jamwal HOD Political Science, Prof Meenakshi Thakur HOD Sociology, Prof Kuldeep Raina HOD Music, Prof Mandeep kour Department of Education and other faculty members of the college graced the occasion with their presence. Principal, Dr G.S. Rakwal also gave certificates to all the speakers for their participation in the seminar. The programme was anchored by the student Riya Manha of B.A. semester 5th. Prof Shivi Mehra, Department of Education concluded the programme by presenting the formal vote of thanks.
