On 23TH March 2023, Department of Electronics, National Service Scheme –Self Financing Unit [NSS-SFU] and IQAC of Maulana Azad Memorial College Jammu organizes one day seminar on “G20 Youth 20 (Y20) Talks: Voices for Better Tomorrow” in collaboration Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA) Jammu Chapter. The topic of today’s seminar is “Science and Technology for Sustainable way of Life”, which is one of the five themes of this year’s Y20 summit. Prof. Dr. G.S Rakwal, Principal of MAM College was the Chief Guest and Prof. Ranvijay Singh, Dean Research Cluster University of Jammu and treasurer ISCA Jammu Chapter was the Guest of honour of the event. At the outset, Dr. Vishal Sharma, HOD Electronics and organizer of this one day seminar, delivered the welcome address and sensitized the audience regarding the theme of the seminar. He said, we firmly believe that the role of youth in promoting a sustainable way of life within the context of G20 is very crucial and this is the main reason behind the choice of this theme for today’s seminar. This seminar aims to empower the youth and create awareness about Y20 submit and its objectives.Prof. Ranvijay singh Guest of honour and Dean Research Cluster University of Jammu spoke about the mission and vision of Indian Science Congress association which is working tirelessly to the creation of scientific temper among young generations.At the occasion, there was excellent lineup of ten student speakers who parented their viewpoints and insights on various issues, including climate change, unemployment, waste management, skill development, space research, conservation of natural resources, entrepreneurship and innovation. Medals were distributed to all the speakers for their encouragement. Three students namely Anant Maini, Jafer Pazeer, Neha received 1st 2nd and 3rd prize respectively and received mementos along with the medals.Prof. G. S Rakwal, Chief Guest and Principal MAM college appreciated the students for their participation despite their busy schedule in the examination. He said young students has all the energy and can contribute to achieving sustainable and inclusive growth, and building a better future for themselves and future generation. He also encouraged the organizers to organize such events in future for the empowerment of youth and to celebrate India’s G20 presidency.Prof Banpreet Kour, Prof. Karan Singh and Prof. Inderjeet Kour were the judges in the event and vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. Satinder Juneja. Faculty members and students of the college have participated in the event. |
