Celebration of International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking
NSS-SFU Volunteers of MAM College Jammu Performed nukkad natak at Teacher Bhawan and participated in walkathon and signature campaign organized by District Administration Jammu and inaugurated by DC Jammu Ms. Avny Lavasa in presence of Director General Social Welfare Department Jammu,
Additional DC Jammu, District Social Welfare Officer Jammu and other eminent dignitaries.
Also the Cadets of MAM College Jammu participated in a Walkathon cum Awareness Campaign on the occasion of International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The chief guest of the occasion was DC Jammu, Avny Lavasa. She encouraged the youth to spread awareness regarding drug abuse and emphasized the role of youngsters in this campaign against drugs.
NSS Unit of Maulana Azad Memorial College, Jammu, in collaboration with J&K Art, Culture and Languages and Bhartiya Kala Sangam, commemorated the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on 26th June 2023 with a powerful nukkad natak (street play) titled "People First: Stop Stigma and Discrimination, Strengthen Prevention."
The volunteers of the NSS Unit actively participated in the event, showcasing their enthusiasm and commitment towards spreading awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the need for prevention. Dr. Kuldeep Raina, Cultural co-ordinator and H.O.D. of Music Dept. , extended his support and valuable time to make the event a success.
Principal Prof. (Dr.) G.S. Rakwal applauded the efforts of the volunteers for organizing such a impactful event that aimed to combat the stigma and discrimination associated with drug abuse. Dr. Koushal Kiran Thakur, the NSS Programme Officer, played a pivotal role in coordinating the event. The nukkad natak successfully conveyed its message and left a lasting impact on the audience.
