| SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNICAL OUTREACH PROGRAMME was organised by Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai in Collaboration with IQAC, Science Club and Deptt. Of Physics of Maulana Azad Memorial College Jammu (a Constituent College of Cluster University of Jammu) today on 11-10-2023 (Wednesday) from 9:30 am – 6:00 pm. Department of Atomic Energy is holding a nationwide outreach programme comprising Lectures, Seminars, Skits etc. on BARC Technologies. BARC is reaching out to academics as well as Research and Development Institutions to share Research and Technological knowledge of BARC in the field of Nuclear power production and advancement of Nuclear Science. BARC, a premier institution in the nuclear research has extended its expertise to the students and faculty, enriching their academic landscape and equipping their minds with the tools to make a difference in the world. The inaugural session of the Programme was hosted by Prof. Rakesh Sharma, Associate Professor Electronics and Coordinator of the Programme. The Programme was started with Lighting of Lamp and Saraswati Vandana. The Programme was initiated by Prof. Rajesh Kumar Gupta HOD Physics and Convenor of the Programme with the welcome note to all and the brief introduction about the Programme. A quiz Preliminary round was started at 9:30 am in which around 150 students participated. Shri. R.K.B. Yadav a well known scientist from BARC delivered Lecture on Radiation safety in Health and Environment which was followed by the interactive session. A lecture on Nuclear Reactor was delivered by Shri. S. Mondal. After the interactive session of the programme, A Skit on Nuclear Reactor – “Harit Urja Ka Akshay srot” was performed by team of Scientists from BARC followed by the Lunch. The Programme includes two more Lectures: Food Irradiation Technology: A need of Hour by Shri. S. Prabhakar and Innovation & Opportunities in BARC by Smt. Heema Rao which was followed by Skit and Final Quiz round coordinated by Shri. R.K. Mishra from BARC. Scientific and Technical outreach programme serves as a testament to the College commitment to excellence in education and its mission to empower students and Faculty with the knowledge skills and inspiration needed to make a positive impact on society and in Research. The Programme was concluded with Valedictory function, Feedback & Prize distribution. Vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Vishal Sharma HOD Electronics of the College. The Programme was organised under the Patronage of Dr. G.S. Rakwal, Principal Maulana Azad Memorial College.
