| The Principal , staff (Teaching and Non teaching ) and students of Maulana Azad Memorial College Jammu took a Pledge in the college grounds as per the format on the occasion of National Voter’s Day today at 11 am. The theme for this year is ‘Nothing like voting , I vote for sure’ . Principal Dr Gurdev Singh Rakwal emphasized the importance of voting for all those who are atleast 18 years of age. Exercising our franchise promotes inclusive democracy and governance. The Election Commission has been working in the direction of registering every qualified voter and spreading awareness about voting .It is pertinent to mention that the Chief Electoral Officer , UT of Jammu and Kashmir has been undertaking a number of awareness generation activities for electoral education. It has been impressed that every official of all departments should take the Voter’s Pledge. |
