World Red Cross day

To commemorate the birth anniversary of Henry Dunant, the founder of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), to mark World Red Cross Day and to develop the student’s creativity and originality in the field of humanitarian services of the World Red Cross, Red Cross Society committee of Govt. M.A.M (P.G) College Jammu organized a poster-making competition centered on this year’s theme “I give with joy, and the joy I give is a reward” for the student’s on account of World Red Cross Day on May 07, 2024. The students were asked to make creative posters on the humanitarian services of the Red Cross Society and also the activities of the Red Cross. In this event 09 students enthusiastically made posters and submitted them to the Red Cross Society committee of the college. The students created magnificent and intriguing posters that illustrated the significance of recognizing Red Cross Day. Anjali Rajput from 4th Semester bagged the 1st position, Twinkle from 4th Semester bagged the 2nd position and Asif from 4th Semester bagged the 3rd position. The purpose of the poster-making competition is not just to evaluate the student’s creativity but also to get them thinking about current World Red Cross initiatives and their own personal ambitions. The competition was organized and judged by Red Cross Society committee of the college led by Dr.Kamal Jeet Kour (Punjabi), Dr.Munish Kumar, Prof. Nazia Choudhary, Dr.Deepika Mehra, Dr.Purshotam Dass and Prof.Asha Rani. The Red Cross Society committee of the college also expressed their appreciation and encouragement for these posters in great detail. The activity fostered global competencies and human excellence among the students. The whole event was organized under the supervision of Prof.(Dr.) Bharat Bhushan Anand, Principal of the college.
