| Department of Environmental Science in collaboration with NSS unit and Eco Club of Maulana Azad Memorial College celebrated the “World Biodiversity Day 2024” under the patronage of Worthy Principal, Dr. B. B. Anand. Under the aegis of IQAC, the whole event was organized and coordinated by Dr. Renu Sharma (Convenor Ecoclub) and Dr. Navita Sharma of Department of Environmental Science and Prof. Lukesha Dubgotra and Dr. Kailash (NSS programme officers). The programme started with the installation of Bird water feeder pots in the college campus in view of intense heat wave conditions in the region. Further, a plantation activity was undertaken to mark the International Biodiversity Day. This year theme of International Day of Biodiversity is “Be the part of the Plan” which calls for individual and collaborative efforts in supporting implementation of Biodiversity plan, thereby signifying the importance of biodiversity for environmental conservation. The Principal of the college appreciated the efforts of the students and faculty and motivated them to undertake such activities in future also. The occasion was graced by the presence of other faculty members viz. Prof. Sunil Uppal, Dr. Neeraj Sharma, Dr. Muneer, Prof. Gurdeep Kour, Prof. Gagandeep, Dr. Imran Shah, Dr. Harbajan Singh, Prof. Dheeraj and Prof. Swati. |
