GOVT. MAM COLLEGE ORGANISES PATRIOTIC SONG COMPETITION
Government MAM College 8th Oct 2013 organized Inter Collegiate patriotic song competition to commemorate Gandhi Jayanti.
The competition was conducted by Gandhian Studies Centre in collaboration with Music Department of the College in which students from 13 colleges participated and gave their best by singing different patriotic songs.
The Vice-Chancellor of Jammu University (JU), Prof Mohan Pal Singh Ishar was the chief guest on the occasion, while Ved Ghai, a noted social activist, presided over the function.
The students drawn from 13 colleges left the audience spell bound by singing patriotic songs. Sunaina Kaul (Retd) Head Music Department, Institute of Music and Fine Arts, renowned singer, Sham Sajan, Director, Indian Cultural Forum J&K, renowned singer and composer and Ravi Kumar Sharma, Director Saraswati Sangeet Kala Mandir and renowned composer were the jury members for the competition.
Ved Ghai appreciated the efforts the college in having organized this competition and exhorted upon the students to imbibe the spirit of Gandhi in true letter and spirit. The principal of the college dwelt on the importance of the values of Gandhiji and motivated them to adhere to these values.
