Distric Level Quiz on "Freedom Struggle and National Heores"

In continuation to the series of events and competitions conducted under the banner of “78th Independence days celebrations”, a district level Quiz Competition has been organized in the Maulana Azad Memorial College, Jammu under the able guidance of worthy principal Prof (Dr) B.B Anand. Prof (Dr) S.P Saraswat (Nodal Principal, Jammu Division Colleges) was the Chief Guest on this occasion. Prof. Amit Sharma and Prof Romika Bhasin were the quiz masters. This program was organized as a part of the Independence Day Celebration program from 1st of August to 15th of August 2024 as per the directives issued by the Principal Secretary to the Higher Education Department, J&K.
The topic of the Quiz Competition was “Freedom Struggle and National Heroes”. the quiz competition was conducted in three phases- Screening test, Semi-final round and the Final round. In this competition, 15 teams from various colleges of the District Jammu participated in the preliminary Screening Session in which only 6 teams qualified for the Semi-final round. There were 04 Teams in the final round. Maulana Azad Memorial College got the 1st prize, GDC Khour got the 2nd prize and GDC Akhnoor got the 3rd prize.
A number of students also participated in this event which was organised in the college as audience. College faculty members were also present during the event. Prof. Lukesha Dubgotra presented the welcome address. Dr. Amit Pal Kour, Dr. Kuldeep Raina, Prof. Deep Chand, Dr. Kailash Sharma (NSS PO), Prof. Dheeraj Kumar Bhardwaj (NSS PO), Prof. Lukesha Dubgotra (NSS PO), Prof. Mohd Ashraf (NCC ANO), Dr. Anil Singh, Dr. Harbhajan Singh coordinated the whole event. Dushyant Kumar, Student of 3rd semester presented the vote of thanks.
Chief guest, Prof (Dr) S.P Saraswat in his address highlighted the great sacrifices of our freedom fighters for the freedom of the nation. He emphasized on the preservation of hard earned freedom from the Britishers who drained India of its rich resources for the furtherance of their own interests. Principal of the college, Prof (Dr) B.B Anand stressed on remembering the national heroes of freedom struggle and encouraged the students for the active participation in such events for awareness of the glorious past that has shaped our today.
