The NCC Unit of Maulana Azad Memorial College Jammu, organized the martyrdom day function of Shaheed Lt. Susheel Khajuria, Kirti Chakra on 28th, Dec. 2024, with deep respect and patriotic fervor in the presence of the Principal of the college, Col. R S Jasrotia, (SM**), Retd. Col. R.K Sharma (KC, Shaurya Chakra, SM), The Register, (Cluster University of Jammu) and also brought together the family members, cadets, and citizens to honor the supreme sacrifice of the brave heart who laid down his life in the service of the nation.The event commenced with the laying of wreaths at the Portrait of Shaheed Lt. Sushil Khajuria in the college, followed by a two-minute silence observed in his honor. Shaheed Lt. Susheel Khajuria, awarded the prestigious Kirti Chakra posthumously, displayed exceptional courage and dedication in the face of adversity during the Kupwara operation in 2011. His indomitable spirit continues to inspire generations and remains etched in the collective memory of the nation. The Principal of the college, Dr.B.B. Anand, in his welcome address, expressed profound gratitude and respect for Shaheed Lt. Susheel Khajuria's supreme sacrifice. He emphasized the importance of remembering the bravery and dedication of such heroes, who serve as role models for students and future generations. The Principal encouraged cadets to imbibe the values of courage, selflessness, and patriotism exemplified by Lt. Khajuria, and highlighted the significance of honoring our martyrs through meaningful actions.Retired Colonel R.K. Sharma, in his stirring address, paid homage to the bravery and selflessness of Shaheed Lt. Susheel Khajuria. He recounted Lt. Khajuria's heroic actions and highlighted the immense responsibility carried by every soldier in safeguarding the nation's sovereignty. He urged the youth to draw inspiration from his life and contribute to the nation's progress.The guests present on the occasion collectively emphasized that Lt. Khajuria's life is a testament to the values of courage, integrity, and patriotism. They urged the youth present to take inspiration from his journey and strive to contribute positively to their community and nation. The guest presented was Prof. Mohd. Ashraf, Prof. Harbhajan Singh, Prof. Sanjay Singh, Sub register Jammu, Canderkant Bhagat, etc. Cultural performances, patriotic songs, and poetry recitations dedicated to the valor and sacrifice of the martyred hero added a poignant touch to the ceremony. Cadets from the different colleges also participated actively, presenting inspiring skits and speeches.In the concluding remarks, Prof. Shiv Kumar, NCC Officer, reflected on the deep sense of gratitude and responsibility felt throughout the event.
