| MAM College Jammu has commenced a free training program titled “Foundation of AI Technology” under the Skill Development for Digital J&K initiative, aimed at equipping students with essential competencies in emerging technologies. The program is being conducted under the overall guidance of the Principal, Prof. Archana Koul.A total of 40 students from the third and fifth semesters will undergo training in the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence. The sessions are being delivered by expert faculty from NIELIT, and the entire program is being held on the college campus in the Department of Computer Sciences. The 90-hour course is NSQF-aligned and will enable students to earn credits in their Academic Bank of Credits (ABC).The inaugural session began with a briefing by Prof. B. D. Sehgal, Convenor, NIELIT Coordination Committee, who emphasized the requirement and growing relevance of AI-based courses in today’s technology-driven world and digital economy. This was followed by an address from Mr. Rajneesh Raina, Joint Director and Officer-in-Charge, NIELIT Jammu, who outlined the course structure and the various modules to be covered during the training. Ms. Sarita Kour, Joint Director, NIELIT, then explained the key technical aspects of the program, providing students with an overview of the practical dimensions of the course. The first instructional session was subsequently delivered by Mr. Angad Singh Sodhi, faculty member at NIELIT, marking the formal commencement of the training.The program is being coordinated by Dr. B. D.
