| The first General Meeting of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of the Nodal/Hub College, Maulana Azad Memorial (MAM) College, Cluster University of Jammu, was successfully held under the abled guidance of the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu, Prof. K. S. ChanderSekar. Prof Archana Kaul deliberated about the roadmap of IIC activities to be conducted among the constituent colleges of Cluster University of Jammu. The meeting aimed to discuss and finalise a roadmap to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and a start-up culture among students and faculty members across the constituent colleges of the Cluster University of Jammu.Addressing the gathering, the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Prof. K. S.Chandrasekar, emphasised that MAM College, being the Nodal College, should take a leadership role in strengthening IIC activities. He highlighted the importance of structured mentoring, faculty training, and effective student handholding to convert innovative ideas into viable projects. He further stressed that the future lies in job creation rather than job seeking.Deans and principals along with their IIC coordinators were present in the meeting. Prof. Chandershekhar, Dean, Sciences, and Prof. Vishal Sharma, Dean, Social Sciences, Cluster University of Jammu. Prof. Kulvinder Kour, Principal, GCW Gandhi Nagar, Prof. Romesh Gupta, principal GGM Science College, Prof. Sunil Gupta, Principal, SPMR College of Commerce , Prof. Jyoti Parihar, Principal, GCOE, Prof. Archana Kaul Govt MAM college were present in the meeting. Detailed deliberations were held on funding mechanisms for innovative projects through institutional budgets, government-supported schemes, private venture capitalists, and external funding agencies. The Council discussed organising workshops, boot camps, hackathons, and regular training programmes for students and faculty members to foster an innovation-driven academic environment.It was further decided that students should be provided with structured platforms to refine ideas, develop workable projects, and link them with industry collaborations and government-aided schemes. The coordinators emphasised inter-college continuous engagement through IIC activities and strengthening social media outreach.The meeting concluded with a consensus to work collectively towards building a sustainable innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem within the Cluster University of Jammu.The vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Amitpal Kour, Convener IIC, Govt MAM College.
