International Women's Day Celebrated at Govt. MAM PG College
Govt. MAM PG College, Jammu celebrated International Women's Day 2021. The function was organized by the Women Development Cell of the College in collaboration with the NSS wing of the College. The theme of the function was " Choose the Challenge". Ms. Monika Kholi; Senior advocate J&K High Court, Ms. Subah Mehta; GM Directorate of Induatries and Ms. Snober Jamil; Block Development Officer, Jammu were the resource persons.
Ms. Kohli spoke on the rights of women and judiciary related matters. Ms. Mehta spoke on the importance skill courses to be pursued by the students besides their degree programme for early job placements, whereas Ms. Jamil in her address to the students , elucidated the importance of hard work and dedication required to be a civil servant.
All the three women, symbolic of women empowerment, spoke equivocally on the theme of the functions.
Prof. Sunil Uppal, the principal of the college threw the light on the historical background of women's day and lauded the contribution of women in all walks of life and emphasized on the need of education of women. Ms. Ruth K. Masehi, an associate professor and Convenor of Women's Development Cell also spoke on the event. Dr. Koushal Kiran and Dr. Shahnawaz Parveen also expressed their views. Formal welcome address was presented by Dr. Gurdeep Kour.
