Director Colleges, Higher Education Department J&K UT, Visited the College
Prof. M.Y Peerzada, Director Colleges visited the college as a chief guest on the eve of plantation drive organised by the NSS unit of the college under the banner of the IQAC and in collaboration with the Social Forestry Department of J&K UT.
The initiative was taken on the call given by the Honorable Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi to plant at least five trees in the office campus or wherever possible.
A total of 110 saplings were planted today in the college campus.

Prof. Peerzada impressed upon the students to understand the responsibility of preserving our environment . He also inspected the ongoing developmental works including the renovation of Science Block and Boy’s Hostel. Further, he visited the recently established e-content creation and browsing centers of colleges and inspected the land identified for the multimedia center to be established in the college.

Prof. Peerzada interacted with the participants of the ongoing Faculty Development Programme which is being organised by the college for the faculty of college to be acquainted and trained in the ICT tools and e-content creation.

Prof. Sunil Uppal, Principal of the college explained that the objective of this drive was to increase the tree cove of the college and to sensitize the students on the importance of the plantation. He described the planting of trees as one of the safe investments for our future generations.

Mr. Mohinder Gupta, Regional Director and Ms. Hiteshi Sharma, DFO, Social Forestry Department conducted the plantation drive along with the staff and students of the college. A guardian has been assigned for each plant to look after the plants.

Dr. Koushal Kiran and Prof. Shabir Ahmed; NSS Programme Officers coordinated the event along with the NSS volunteers of the college.
