World Water Day Celebartion
Govt. MAM PG College celebrated ‘World Water Day’ in the college with the purpose of highlighting the importance of water and raising awareness among the students about the water crisis. The theme of World Water Day 2021 is “Valuing Water” and has been chosen to highlight the value of water in our daily lives. Prof. Sudesh Kumar Head, Department of EVS, formally welcomed the guests and presented a brief preview of the event.
Ms. Anju Sidha, Senior Scientist from Pollution Control Board, was the key resource person. She dwelt at length about raising awareness of the global water crisis, and shared that the core focus of the observance of this day is to support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
Prof. Sanjay Samyal also briefed the students about importance of day and asked the students to start saving water in their homes and colleges.

Prof. Sunil Uppal, Principal of the college lauded the efforts of the EVS department in celebrating such an important day and said that Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi launched the 'Jal Shakti Abhiyan: Catch the Rain’ campaign on World Water Day which will be undertaken across the country, in both rural and urban areas, with the theme "catch the rain, where it falls, when it falls. He also endorsed the need to step forward and clean our natural and artificial water bodies like Tawi River, which is the life line of Jammu city and Ranbir canal. He also urged to start a dialogue about progressive ways of using water resources for domestic use and sustainable utilization. Students of EVS department were among the participants.
