Quiz Competition on Freedom Fighters under the ‘Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav’ (India @75) program
The Department of Political Science of Govt. MAM PG College Jammu, a constituent college of Cluster University of Jammu, conducted Quiz Competition on Freedom Fighters under the ‘Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav’ (India @75) program. Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav is a series of events to be organized by the Government of India to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence.
The competition was conducted under the patronage of Principal, Prof. Sunil Uppal. He emphasized on the role played by freedom fighters in the freedom struggle. He remarked that this quiz was in a fact a way of testing the knowledge of students regarding India’s Freedom Struggle and the heroes associated with it. He lauded the efforts of the students in organizing the competition.
There were Seven teams each comprising of four contestants who participated in this competition. The competition was divided into 2 rounds. The first one was the elimination round and the second being the final round. Three teams qualified for the final round.
The team comprising of Tariq Jhangir, Villayat Ali, Umar Ayub, Dhriti Gupta was declared as the winner. The second prize was bagged by Suraj Thakur, Vinkal Udhay Singh, Jahanvi Dubey and Shahzad and the third prize went to Muskan, Anirudh, Mahir and Abdul Gafoor. The entire competition was coordinated by the students of Sem 6th Akshit and Aryan.
The programme concluded with the distribution of certificates to the winners and the participants. The formal vote of thanks was given by Prof. Seema Jamwal, Head of the Department, Political Science. Prof Banpreet, Prof. Bharti, Prof. Sudesh, Prof Sanjay Samyal, Prof. Lukesha, Ms. Vijeeta and Dr. Ranjan Sharma were also present on the occasion.
