The occasion of Samvidhan Diwas (Constitutional day) commemorating the day of adoption of our constitution was celebrated in the college with great zeal and enthusiasm. The function started with reading out of the preamble by Vijeeta Anand, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science and NCC Cadet Sanchit Manohar. The function was attended by Dr. GS Rakwal Principal of Govt. MAM College, Associate NCC Officer Maj. Dr Karan Singh, Lt. Dr Joginder Singh, NSS PO Prof Shabir Ahmed and the entire faculty of the college.Department of Political science in collaboration with IQAC organized Poster-making competition on the theme “India after independence”. A total of 13 students participated in the event. Nipun was adjudged as the best, 2nd position was secured by Sumegha and Samriti stood 3rd.The students of Department of Political Science also participated in an online quiz on Constitutional Democracy. They also joined the portal for reading the preamble to the Constitution in 23 languages organized by Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs.Prof Jozafeen, Prof Meenakshi Thakur and Prof Kamaljeet Kour were the judges for the event. The Principal of the College Prof (Dr) G S Rakwal congratulated the students and the Department of Political Science for the successful organization of the programme. The event was coordinated by Prof Lukesha Dubgotra and Dr Seema Jamwal, Head, Department of political science who concluded the programme with the formal vote of thanks. |
