| Career Counselling and placement cell, Govt MAM College Jammu under the patronage of Prof (Dr. ) G.S Rakwal, Principal, Govt MAM College organised a lecture on Awareness of Potential of J&K Tourism under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. On this occasion, Ms. Anu Sharma (JKAS), Under Secretary to Govt, Tourism Department was the resource person who highlighted the major aspects of Tourism in J&K. She gave a detailed insight of tourism developments in J&K , in addition to the major projects undertaken by the department in this regard. Prof Bharti Slathia, Convenor Career Counselling formally welcomed the resource person, students and threw light on the theme of the lecture. Dr. G.S Rakwal in his address opined that Tourism holds a strategic place in J&K Economy by providing Employment to the local people. He exhorted that there was lot of untapped potential of the local Tourist Destinations which needed to be exploited in order to generate Revenue & Employment. Prof. Raj Kumar, HOD, BCA and Dr. Banpreet Kour, Convenor Placement Cell were instrumental in organizing the event. Later, a formal vote of thanks was presented by Prof Meena Gupta. A large number of students attended the lecture and interacted with resource person. Among the others who attended the lecture include Prof Amitpal kour, Prof. Bhanu Priya, Prof Vishally Sharma and Prof Mohd. Ashraf. |
