The placement and Career Counselling cell of Government MAM College organized a webinar on career prospects in civil services. Prof Sunil Uppal Principal of the college was the Chief Guest and Patron of the workshop. He lauded the efforts of the Career Counselling and Placement Cell in organizing a Webinar on such a pertinent topic as it would give the students an opportunity to participate in nation building and make a difference in the lives of people. He exhorted that the webinar was aimed at creating awareness of civil services exams and motivating more students to appear for them.Mr Faisal Rishu KAS and an alumnus of the college was the resource person for the workshop.He shared his experiences and journey as an aspirant and highlighted that ‘civil services demands a wide variety of personalitytraits,communication skills, social attitudes and emotional intelligence. These qualities are increasingly important for the young learners to help them realize their full potential and upward mobility in their careers. He stressed that the civil services have always been considered the best career choice for Arts graduates but of late young professionals from BBA, BCA, B. Com have started appearing for prestigious services. He further explained that a wide variety of job within the ambit of civil service offers great sphere of authority and power to make a difference to socially uplift the marginalized section of society. The session was followed by an interactive question answer session wherein the students put forth their queries on preparation, time management etc. Dr. Banpreet kour convener of the placement cell welcomed the participants and gave a brief profile of the activities being organized by the cell as per directions of the higher education dept. Prof Bharti Slathia moderated the proceedings of the workshop and delivered the formal vote of thanks. The workshop was keenly attended by about 90 students from BA, BBA and UG honors. Prof Ajay Kumar, Prof Vijeeta Anand, Prof Ashraf, Prof Bhanu Priya, Prof Meena Gupta were instrumental in organizing the event. |
