The NSS Unit of Govt. Maulana Azad Memorial College, a constituent college of the Cluster University of Jammu under the patronage of College Principal (Prof.) Dr. G.S. Rakwal celebrated the National Girl Child Day. The event is being celebrated under the banner of Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav which marks the 75th anniversary of India’s independence. The celebrations across the country are led by the Ministry of Women and Child development. The aim of this day is to promote a sense of awareness about the rights of the girl child and the importance of female education and health.The NSS Volunteers and their family members actively took part in the celebrations by clicking selfies and taking pledges. To reflect the essence of the occasion, the male volunteers clicked selfies with their sisters and mothers while the female volunteers clicked selfies with their brothers and fathers. They also made placards with messages about the importance of girl child in the process of nation building. The event was conducted under the supervision of NSS POs Dr. Koushal Kiran Thakur and Shabir Ahmed. |
